Glimmer

Glimmer is a magical world of crystal. It is the world in which Diana, Rosalia, and Amber have come from.

Overview

Glimmer inhabited by many mystical creatures, primarily Fairies. People can travel between Earth and Glimmer using portals, doorways between worlds enchanted with extremely strong teleportation magic. Some of the intelligent creatures that reside on Glimmer include: Fairies, Humans, and Luminae.

There are many communities on Glimmer and they have for a long time had a strong connection with Earth. Chalcedonia is the capital of Glimmer, a bustling metropolis full of dozens of different creatures and sights to see.

Culture

Glimmer's culture is generally a bit different than that of on Earth, however due to the connection between worlds, many Glimmerians celebrate Earthling holidays and events inspired by or modified from Earthling celebrations. Examples of Glimmerian festivals with Earthling parallels are

• A gift exchanging celebration, generally intended for fawns and young children.
• Aventurine Advent, Glimmer's equivalent to Valentine's day, a celebration for fairy couples to release their more chaotic urges and engage in play fighting and rough housing with each other.
• Hekatolite Harvest, a celebration of the planet's harvest.

Fairies do not have families like that of humans, and instead are born from eggs and cared for by the entire community. Each hatchling cluster is assigned an older mentor to care for them and guide them throughout their fawnhood, and education on Glimmer is handled by communities as a whole. During adolescence, people are expected to make their own decisions about their futures and seek out apprenticeships on their own.

Chalcedonia

Chalcedonia (/ˈkælsəˌdoʊniə/ KAL-sə-doh-nee-ə) is the kingdom in which Rosalia, Diana, and Amber are from. It's one of the more politically powerful kingdoms in all of Glimmer. Princess Rosalia is the current Luminae princess in a long line of royalty.
