Flirty, fun, and overflowing with energy, Zacharie always has a smile on their face. They always do their best to remain optimistic despite how hard things can get. They don't get along with their parents and they live with their aunt Paulina.
Zacharie lives in a single family bungalow in the south west side of the city. He lives fairly close to Alex[1] and the two of them end up hanging out frequently after Episode 11.
After seeing their friends in danger, they immediately gain the ability to transform into the Crystal Warrior of joy and fortune, Citrine Heart. They have powers over sunshine and light.
Zacharie is cheerful, friendly, and kindhearted. He has a major impulsive streak and once they have their eyes set on something, very little can stop them from going full throttle with it, even at the expense at others feelings. They try to be polite and considerate to others, but they have a bit of a sarcastic and sassy side to them. He doesn't think of himself as a judgemental person, but they do often have less than polite thoughts about his friends looks and behavior.
Zacharie is a self-proclaimed Total Love Expert[2] and they adore playing matchmaker and giving people makeovers. They love doing hair and makeup for others and making them look like their best selves.
They're great at sewing and they're a fairly smart cookie, getting pretty decent grades in all their classes. Zacharie speaks both English and French, so they're able to understand when Clover is speaking it.[3]
Zacharie has brown eyes, pale skin freckled skin, and long, bleached blonde hair. Their natural hair color is red, and you can often see the original color peaking through the roots. He has a mole underneath his lip and wears a lot of makeup. He normally wears glasses while he works, but switches to contacts when going out. He wears stylish clothes that he designed himself, with tons of jewelry and accessories.
Zach is 5'10" in height, making him about average for a guy, but on the taller side for a girl. He has a very thin, narrow build and is one of the skinniest characters in the cast.
Zacharie's base Crystal Warrior form. As Citrine, his hair grows thick and wavy and becomes a brighter golden color, he has a braided headband, and a gold hairbow on the top of his head. He has a large gold bow on his chest with his Heart Jewel set neatly in the middle. He wears a frilly yellow, gold, pale yellow and white dress with glittery puff sleeves and a two layered skirt that is longer in the back. He has single later of glittery tulle underneath. He wears white thigh high socks and yellow and white high heeled boots that end just barely under his knees. He lacks a gemstone on his hip bows and his earrings are upside down hearts.
His weapon is the Citrine Tambourine. A sun-shaped tambourine with a large star gemstone in the middle, the rays on the tambourine are embedded with a crystal representing each of their teammates.
Abilities
Citrine Golden Sunshine: Purification spell;
Citrine Flash: Zacharie creates a bright light in the arena and temporarily blinds the enemy.
Lucky Break: Zacharie has an extremely high luck stat that gives him a high survival rate in battle. Attacks tend to miss him.
Parameters
Zach is primarily a support. Their defense is abysmal and their attack is on the lower end, but they have incredible speed and accuracy as well as insane luck, making them a convenient decoy as they can dodge hits with ease. They have just enough attack power to be able to engage in combat if necessary, although they lack attack spells.
Tropical Citrine
Unit Form with Valerie and Alex. His design loosely based on Caribbean festival attire. He has his phoenix tattoo on his belly and wears his hair in twin braids in a blonde to pink gradient.
As Tropical Citrine his element is sunlight. The three are meant to represent different times of day as well, with Zacharie representing sunrise, Valerie representing sunset, and Alex representing Twilight.
Zacharie and Ethan have been fairly good friends for a while. The two share an art class during the story[4], and before that they were in the same homeroom. Zach sees Ethan as kind and reliable, but kind of a total dweeb. The two of them primarily talk about their various art projects. Zacharie doesn't really understand most of Ethan's geeky interests, so while Ethan is one of their closer friends, they don't talk as often as they should.
Zacharie immediately jumps to befriending Clover out of admiration for her sister.[5] They connected with her quickly since she's also a lonely person, and he can relate to her as another trans person. Zacharie and Clover are both extremely nosey people, and they often team up as a duo to harass help other's with their romantic struggles. However, despite finding her cute and exciting to be around, they also find her kind of unbearable to deal with. Clover, unknowingly, says exactly the right things that can get under their skin, and since she's so oblivious and out of touch with reality, she can be horrendously insensitive to Zach's living and familial situation.[6]
Alex is one of the first people Zacharie has ever connected with that has been both empathetic to their struggles and has been open-minded and friendly with them as a person. Alex quickly becomes Zacharie's closest friend in the story after the two of them realize they have a lot of shared experiences with one another.[7] Alex looks out for Zach and sees them as one of the bros, and Zacharie trusts them a lot. However, despite being initially being fairly close, they feel like there is a wall being put up between them and Alex. Zacharie has no problem opening up to Alex, but Alex refuses to open up to them.
Initially Zacharie doesn't have much of an opinion on Liam as a person other than he seems like a responsible, albeit kind of boring and stuffy person. Zacharie thinks Liam is completely socially inept and fashionably challenged as well. And they don't understand why Liam has so many fans when he's kind of a waste of a handsome face in that regard. They begin to see them in a slightly different light as time goes on as they realize a lot of Liam's family life is eerily similar to their own and they worry about his well being because of it.[8] Zacharie ends up reaching out to Liam for tutoring in their own route and becomes friendlier with him as a result.
Zacharie was not originally part of the cast, with the citrine Crystal Warrior originally being Clover[9] . He was added to the cast after the project was no longer being created as a NaNoRenO entry [10]
They're capable of cooking exactly one dish: Poutine
