Clover is the wealthy (former) heiress of the incredibly powerful Vermillion family. She greatly admires her older sister Lotus and aspires to be just like her someday.
Clover lives outside of the city in a mansion in Winnetka[1]. Clover's home is one of the few which has an explicitly stated location.
Clover is the wealthy and former heiress of the incredibly powerful Vermillion family. She hails from France and has moved to America recently as her family wants to prioritize the American branch of their company.
Clover is spoiled, childish, vain, and incredibly proud. She's a bit arrogant, and has a short temper. However, she is very sweet and loves her family with all her heart[2]. She's charismatic and great at speaking publicly and making a good impression, but despite the independent and confident air she gives off, she is actually very clumsy when it comes to interpersonal relationships. She views herself extremely highly and can be very presumptuous, declaring herself a best friend to characters who have never shown indication of feeling the same way.[3] To Clover, everyone MUST want to be her friend, though. she speaks carefully and politely, however she can be very expressive when she loses control of her emotions. Like Liam, she has a very verbose vocabulary, but unlike him, the language she uses will often be more flowery and descriptive rather than technical.
Clover is extremely competitive and stubborn. She loves to compete and forms a bond with Liam because of it[3]. She believes she's the best of the best and is more than happy to prove it. She's quite impulsive as well, and is one of the primary fighters on the team purely because she's most eager to jump in and fight to begin with.
She's very kind and generous, but extremely out of touch with reality. While she's more than happy to help, she doesn't understand why or how her friends could be struggling to begin with. Because of the social power her family holds, she is one of Val's most valuable allies.
Clover is classically trained in piano, violin, and saxophone. She is fluent in English, French, and Japanese[3]. She's taken martial arts classes and ballet as a child and knows ballroom dance as well. She gets extremely high marks on her exams.
Outside of battle she can also see ghosts[4] and gains the ability to communicate with them as her magic becomes more powerful. She can not see a soul that has moved on to the afterlife.
Clover dresses in flashy and elegant fairy-tale like styles. She has a round youthful face with large pink eyes and smooth dark brown skin. In the text her hair should be described as "dark", her eyes depend on the context of the situation but she generally is considered to have lighter eyes. Her hair is a dark purple color styled in a short wavy bob, although she normally wears extravagant wigs and extensions. She most often wears elegant lolita dresses and tall platform heels that put her closer in height to the other girls on the team.
Clover's base Crystal Warrior form. Her weapon is the Amethyst Mallet. A large amethyst hammer with gold stars on each face. The head has a star on top and the handle is white with jewels in each of the Crystal Warrior's colors.
As Amethyst, her hair lightens to a light lavender color and is tied up in half twin ringlets, with the free hair being smooth and straight. She has a large purple bow on her chest with her Heart Jewel seated neatly in the middle. She wears the princess-style uniform with heart shaped earrings. Her dress is lavender, white, and purple with puff sleeves and three layers of glittery tulle under her skirt. She has two side bows on her hips, wrist-cuffs, purple tights with a heart pattern on them. She wears lavender and purple platform lolita style shoes.
Clairvoyance: Clover can see the spirits of the dead and at some point gains the ability to communicate with them. She can only see the ghosts of those who are still in the physical realm.
Familiar: Once her powers have grown, she can ask the spirits to assist in battle, as well as create her own clone illusions.
Parameters
Clover has high attack power, medium magic attack, and mid-high speed and accuracy. She's a capable fighter but requires backup because of her low defense.
Amethyst Primrose
Form change achieved with Liam and Valerie. Her element as Amethyst Primrose is Starlight. Her design is based on Swan Lake. Valerie and Clover are meant to represent Odette and Odile, with Liam taking the role of Siegfried.
The form is named after the evening primrose which blooms at night. The floral theme is a representation of his own elemental abilities, and the primrose also alludes to Clover, as it's the name of her late mother.
Clover's debut episode is named after the Baby, The Stars Shine Bright coord, Claudia, The Fairy Tale Princess.
Clover was originally intended to be the youngest Crystal Warrior and a sophomore, but was changed to be in the same grade as Val, making her older than her.
