The Shining Crystal of kindness and loyalty, Emerald Heart!
Liam is a genius who has never gotten less than 100% in anything. He comes from a very wealthy family and is considered to be destined for success. He is cold and difficult to approach, but despite his rotten attitude (or perhaps because of it?), He is very popular, often getting numerous love confessions from very bold students.
He's the student council president, but spends most of his time sleeping rather than assisting in student activities. His closest friend is Alex Harvey, his total opposite.
Liam lives in a large family home in the far north side of the city.
Liam is a genius from a prestigious family, everyone in his family is doctors, lawyers, and politicians and he inherited their great talent and intellect. Liam grew up in an extremely strict and domineering household. He had never been allowed to play with other kids his age without the approval of his mother, and he was raised to believe he was superior than others, contributing to his social maladjustment
Because he was given a head start in life, Liam is quite lazy, he doesn’t have to try very hard to succeed and doesn’t have much passion or drive. He’s very charismatic and has great manners and maintains a perfect prince-like image. Many students are intimidated by him and Alex is his only real friend.
Liam is the last of the Crystal Warriors to join the team, but he wasn't the last to unlock his powers. He gains a Miracle Link after Onyx attacked Alex's family. Alex unlocked his abilities just shortly after, and Liam's Miracle Link shut down. After Valerie talked some sense into him, he realized that he didn't care if he failed, this was a choice he would be making on his own terms, and he wanted to try fighting again.
Liam is initially very cold and antisocial, this is purposeful as he doesn't want to talk to people he believes have ulterior motives and no genuine interest in him, and because he looks down on others. Liam isn’t very talkative, but when he does speak, he tends to come across as arrogant but confident, he doesn’t waste his time. However because of his lack of experience socially he can be quite clumsy and has a hard time expressing himself properly. He is honest to a fault and very blunt, he doesn’t sugarcoat his criticisms of others and his compliments are often backhanded, peppered with insults, or otherwise plain rude. He can be wordy and sound pretentious. Liam is extremely stubborn and competitive. He hates losing and can easily be provoked when he feels challenged.
Liam comes from a very conservative upbringing so he has very old fashioned ideas of how men and women should behave. He doesn't like to express vulnerability believing that it's shameful if he allows others to worry about him. His views are very idealistic however and he's one of the more open minded members of his family. He has a very naive outlook on the world believing in fairytale-esque romances. He takes the law quite seriously as his father is a lawyer and he grew up learning about it and believes that injustice is created when leaders are unable to properly perform their duties. Liam is ferociously loyal as well, and despite his cold exterior he is quite gentle.
Liam can speak German, English, and Spanish, he starts studying Italian and French after episode 11. His accent is extremely poor/awkward, however, and other characters should comment on this. He will be seen reading and writing other languages more often than speaking.
He can play piano and violin but he prefers violin. In human form he is one of the fastest runners. He has a super green thumb outside of battle, and if he holds direct contact with plants they will begin to sprout and grow.
He is fully capable of using his Growth ability outside of battle and as time goes on he is able to access this power more and more. He hovers his hands over the target and transfers magic energy into them. The target's veins glow bright green as his magic flows through them, and small vine-like structures begin repairing tissue and reconnecting misaligned matter. If he's unable to repair something, his magic will form new matter to replace whatever was lost.
Liam has blond hair, green eyes, and pale white skin. He is quite fit and keeps his body in tip-top shape. He very tall at 6'2" and is the third tallest love interest after Opal and Alex. He wears almost exclusively dress shirts, cardigans, and loafers, his style is a bit more formal compared to the other characters but far less dressy than Clover. As far as styling goes, he doesn't cut his hair anymore and he tends to have a bedhead type of look to him.
Liam's base Crystal Warrior Form. He has long green hair tied back in a dark green ribbon. His ponytail loops in a large ringlet and his bangs curl at the ends. His outfit is the prince-like uniform, with a pale lime top with bell sleeves. He wears vest with wing-like sleeves that connect to the short white wings growing from his back and a ruffly vest-tail. He has a bow tie with his Heart Jewel placed neatly in the center, and a bow on the side of his waist with threelayers of sparkling fabric. He wears dark green trousers and white knee high boots. He wears white gloves and his Miracle Link becomes a watch-like object worn on his wrist.
His weapon is the Emerald Bow. An emerald green bow with a golden grip and small flowers decorating the limbs. The "string" is made of magic energy and his arrows are conjured at will. Liam is the only character on the team who can fly in his base form.
Abilities
Emerald Blossom Frenzy: Purification spell; An arrow pierces the monster's chest and as it's knocked back, the ground rumbles. Vines and roots slither through the field and wrap around the monster, encasing it in crystal. The crystal bursts and an ocean of cosmos instantly bloom throughout the field.
Emerald Shot: He shoots an arrow into the ground creating vines that can trap enemies. He has two modes, a basic vine and a thorned version
Growth: He can replace injured flesh and heal much more major injuries than Sophie can, But it can be a very painful process for serious injuries. For mild injuries it is described as being similar in sensation to peroxide on a scrape. When using the growth ability, as long as there is blood flow, the target's veins glow green as his magic travels through them. He's unable to resurrect the dead or recreate destroyed matter.
Support: He can restrain enemies with vines but they take a few moments to grow. His vines have two modes, a regular vine mode and one with thorns that also cause damage.
Parameters
Liam is physically strong and resilient, but has little in the realm of combat magic, making him ill suited for offensive combat. He works best as a ranged support fighter, although because of his high defense, he's a perfectly acceptable frontline tank.
Emerald Primrose
Form Change with Clover and Liam representing his deep respect for the two of them. His element as Emerald Primrose is Nature. His design is based on Swan Lake. Valerie and Clover are meant to represent Odette and Odile, with Liam taking the role of Siegfried.
Flower Symbolism
The form is named after the evening primrose which blooms at night. The floral theme is a representation of his own elemental abilities, and the primrose also alludes to Clover, as it's the name of her late mother.
His Crystal Warrior form originally was called Emerald Spirit, and his original name was "Christopher", but it was changed before production[1]. He was also a year older than Alex in this version, with him being 18, and Alex being 17.
Liam originally had freckles, but they were dropped from his design.
Liam is the only character whose eye color matches their hair color when in Crystal Warrior form.
Liam is the only character on the team who can fly in his initial base form. [2]
