The Shining Crystal of intelligence and clarity, Sapphire Heart!
Sophie is the hardworking and reliable student council vice-president. She can be very strict when it comes to her grades as well as the grades of her friends, often scolding Ethan and Valerie when they don’t get their work done in a timely fashion. She's very curious and is always rambling on about her latest discovery. She has a soft spot for frogs and reptiles, and keeps several as pets.
Sophie lives in a two flat apartment in the north side of the city. She lives in the apartment below Ethan and the two of them live fairly close to the school compared to Valerie.
Sophie is childhood friend of Ethan, the two of them have been good friends since they were young children, and because they both have very busy and absent parents, they've grown up caring for each other to make up for it. Sophie often visits the apartment in the morning to clean and cook.
She's vice president of the student council and is very hardworking and reliable. She's very curious and loves learning new things and takes her education very seriously, even studying in her spare time. Sophie is a solid straight-A student and she, for the most part, has picture perfect attendance as well.
Sophie unlocks her ability to become a Crystal Warrior on her 17th birthday in order to protect her friends from the Nightmare Agent, Opal.
Sophie is hardworking and reliable. She's extremely curious and loves learning new things. She is friendly and energetic toward her friends, but she can be stern and cold toward people she is uncomfortable around, often giving people the cold shoulder. Valerie and Ethan describe her as gentle and motherly[1], but she can be very strict and will scold them for not getting their work done on time [2]. Sophie values hard work and gets easily frustrated by people she views as lazy.
She can be a stickler for the rules and doesn't like doing things like cutting class.[3] Because of her endless curiosity, she can be very fearless and would rather face scary things head on as a learning experience. She also comes across as intense with her interest in studying the fairies, not caring much if they get hurt as long as they consent to her experiments.
She believes that sometimes sacrifices need to be made for the greater good which informs how she interacts with the fairies as well as how she fights the Nightmares. She doesn't want to hurt anyone, but sometimes it's what needs to be done.
Sophie is incredibly smart, she's able to memorize and recite facts at the drop of the hat. Her proficiency in animal care makes her a valuable asset on the team as she's able to help identify the weaknesses of Onyx's Nightmares. she's can speak Russian and is currently studying Greek.
Because of her Crystal Warrior magic, she is able to create ice from her hands and she has enhanced senses. She can see the "auras" of other characters, although at the beginning her perception is weaker and she had know way of knowing what it was that she was seeing. From Sophie's point of view, other Crystal Warriors emit a soft glow and the dark magic emitted from the Nightmare Agents causes the atmosphere around themselves to warp slightly.
In Episode 12, it's revealed that Sophie has an excellent singing voice.
Sophie dresses in comfortable and casual clothing. She has pale rosy skin, purple down-turned eyes,and dark blue hair styled in a bob cut. Her hair and eyes should be described as "dark". She prefers to keep her hair out of her face and often wears headbands or ties it back. Her style leans feminine often wearing floral patterns, but she doesn't particularly go out of her way to be more girly looking compared to other characters. She wears flat shoes without laces, and will always have some sort of sleeve or accessory on her right wrist to fiddle with so that she isn't risking picking at her skin or hair in that area. Sophie is the tallest female character in the cast and is curvy and on the slightly pudgy side. She wears thick square glasses, and her eyesight is quite bad without them.
Sophie's base Crystal Warrior form. As Sapphire, she has long, light blue hair tied up with a white ribbon in a long wavy side ponytail. She has a large blue bow on her chest with her heart jewel in the middle. Her dress is light and dark blue, with a two tiered ruffled skirt and dark blue bikeshorts underneath. She wears white gloves and light blue thigh high boots with flat heels.
Her weapon is the Sapphire Rod, a short magic wand with a white handle and sapphire star decorated with a dark blue bow on top.The handle has jewels in each of the Crystal Warrior's colors. Sophie is the first support/healer character that joins the team, although she does have some ranged spells and is able to assist in combat as well.
Abilities
Holy Sapphire Blizzard: Purification spell; A flurry of glittering snow crystals pelt the enemy, encasing the monster in a prison of ice. The ice explodes and the Nightmare dissolves away. The snowfall that follows soothes any injuries gained in battle.
Soothe: Her cooling ice magic can soothe injuries and speed up recovery.
Support: She can restrain enemies and create shields out of ice. She can also create platforms to travel on. Sophie is normally quite clumsy, but while navigating on ice she moves much more gracefully and quickly.
Analyze: A more powerful version of her enhanced senses. Her goggles allow her to determine enemy and ally weaknesses.
Parameters
Sophie has low defense and attack power and mid-low magic attack, making her ill-suited for physical combat and sufficient, but less ideal for ranged combat.
Sapphire Prism
Form change with Valerie and Amber. Her design is based on Ultraman Nexus. Her hair shape is meant to resemble Nexus's head shape. Her element as Sapphire Prism is electricity and ice.
